Bro-BI Be Gone

As we have seen over the past 5-6 years the Padres have assembled teams with the two brothers. For example
Brian and Marcus Giles
Adrian And Edgar Gonzalez and this year
Scott and Jerry Hairston Jr.
All of the previous brothers have been comeplete disasters, both of the siblings of the star players were utility guys, average bat but could play all over the field. Yesterday it proved costly, "Jack of all trades" and second most expensive off season pickup Jerry Hairston Jr blew a routine play in the 9th. Managing to throw the ball into the stands, he put a runnner at 2nd, who later scored after a groundout that moved him to third and a sac fly that brought him home.

Strikeouts and Send Downs
So far I count more screwups than contributions to the team for Jerry, while he does not strike out as much as Kyle Blanks or Will Venable, he has not been the veteran clutch hitter the team was expecting. Sure it's early, but the Padres are in first place and talking about maybe sending Blanks down to AAA, which would be a huge mistake. Nothing messes with a young hitter more than roller coaster rides from the bigs to the minors then up and down again. They made the decision to make him a starter now let him battle through his struggles, or move him up in the lineup, hitting in front of Adrian in the 23rd spot would be ideal. He would see better pitches batting in front of Adrian and perhaps come out of his slump.
